Daydreams

“Sometimes reality is too complex. Stories give it form.”

Have you ever had a moment where you realised that you remember weirdly related stuff but have trouble with general exam studies? Daydreams was an innovative hack idea to build an application that’d help autistic kids learn at a normal pace. It takes in real time input from the teacher, and arranges it in a visual manner.

Problem

Autism is a lifelong developmental condition, that relates to their environment and their interaction with other people.

We discovered that autistic children have trouble comprehending long strings of information, or complex sets of directions.

Market Research

We collected information from articles and case studies on trends, challenges, and areas for growth to identify user expectations.

User Research

To research users, we looked for stories and help from people on the internet, family members and teachers who have had experience working with autistic kids.

We uncovered three main user pain points that allowed us to discover trends and patterns from which insights could be constructed.

Prototype

The home page saves all lessons and allows to setup the space for a new lesson. We also decided to provide a drawing space for the kids.

We kept in mind the pain points of bright colours and complex interactions, and decided it’d be best to keep it simple.
